A little taste of Heaven!

I think everyone's little taste's of Heaven is different. I, personal have many "little tastes" but some you get more often then others, so when you get a taste of a long forgotten thing, it's like honey... or nutella!!! One thing I love is spending quiet time with my hubby and once you have kid's that time is limited. My hubby and I both work really hard so I was beyond thrilled when he told me he was taking a weekday off so we could go out of town for the night without kid's!!!! I had him promise not to tell me a thing I wanted to be surprised in every way. I was surprised, but the wait was almost as good as the trip itself, just knowing he had planned this for me was enough to keep me giddy for days. Tuesday finally came and we ended up having a great quiet time in San Francisco. We had some amazing meals, we went to Alcatraz, we even got to sleep in a soft bed without a kid jumping in! My husband is a good guy and I love him to death for this short trip, it made my month!

How does it work? Drop off your clean, gently used items. Hang out & enjoy the family friendly venue with your kid(s) while we get organized and set things out. When the swap starts, come in and take what you need. Leftovers go to charity.

A Sunset Picnic

I have been capturing Miss. Gracie since birth and ever session has been better then the last, but this birthday session takes the cake! (so to speak, lol) Gracie's mom and I always have big plans come every session, so I am always very pleased when a reason for a session arrives! The lighting really made this session, sunset really is the most beautiful light to capture life in! So here is a look back from day one with little Ms. Gracie! Enjoy

I hate to give out titles but if I did, Bella gets easiest baby to work with. I loved that I walked into there house and Bella immediately started smiling at me! Even as a baby for her newborn session she slept and was so go with the flow! She not only is easy going but super beautiful just look at those eye's. I can't wait to capture her first birthday shoot too! Enjoy

The Boast of a Parent

If you know me, I am sure you have heard me say, "The Lord has given me the perfect children for me". When I say this it's not because I think my children are perfect by any means, but I know God knows my innermost being because of the children he blessed me with. For those of you who don't know I have two stinkers and I love them more then life, I know that they belong to God and I know he has entrusted me with them for a few reasons.

First, like most women, I have wanted children ever since I could remember. When I finally became pregnant my joy was overwhelming, but sadly I have had a lot of problems in a lot of pregnancies. So when April 21, 2007 came around and a beautiful healthy baby boy was placed in my arms, I knew that God had given me this amazing gift! I remember praying over my sleeping newborn and praising the Lord he belonged too. I will never forget praying "if I am never given one more blessing in life this is more then enough Lord." Micah, that little bundle of joy, was the best natured baby and has blessed us and so many others with the amazing little personality God gave him. Thankfully, God did continue to bless me and on July 3rd 2009, Rowen Ella entered the world. Rowen's pregnancy and birth were so easy compared to the others and when they placed her on my chest she didn't even cry she just stared into my eye's and I remember thinking. "Lord I have never felt or seen anything more beautiful then my babies." Through the 4 years I have been a mother, my children have continued to bless and work in my life. God regularly uses my children to teach and grow me, and in some of the times I have most been in need God has used my children to love me! Yes, I can say without a doubt in my mind, that my children are gifts designed before time to come into my life by the most high God.

I know that I could boast of my children for days, but to remember that the God of the universe boast over me is a little harder to comprehend.
Zephaniah 3:17
"The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."
The God of everything DELIGHTS in me and loves me more then I even love my own children, for the love of the Lord is without conditions, it is pure and everlasting. As odd as it seems at times, God is always boasting over his children, every time we overcome, every time we push, every time we cling to Him more. I am so taken back by His love that I don't really even know what else to write but to challenge everyone. Challenge those who call themselves his children to live your life for the one who boasts of you as his beloved! Challenge those who don't know the Lord to come to him and REST! God boast over you!!! He loves you like no earthly parent could ever because he gave his only son, Christ, to die so you could be adopted in to His family and he could BOAST over you!

The H Family is Growing

I could not be happier for the H family, there new baby boy will be here in just a few weeks! I love this location and I am so happy with these pictures. I was a little worried since it was cold and raining the whole shoot! It's amazing what you can do with a beautiful model family and photoshopped sunshine! Now it's just a wait to meet the little man! Enjoy

lessons

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

This is such a hard lesson but also one my life is dependent on. I, like most women, have problems with anxiety. I worry mostly about my kids and my fears are never rational! I have really had to work to give up control and let God take over, in all reality what can I do that he can't do better! This verse also meanings so much because it reminds me that I will not be given everything I want, but that I can always have the peace of God in my life and with that peace I can go through anything!!! I have spent the last 6 months fighting for things I really want, to no avail. I have fought through so much and even though I don't have what my heart wants, I have a new found peace in the Lord, a new outlook on life, and a bond with my Savior I didn't have before. It's amazing what you can be given when you don't even think you need it!

Valentine's Mini's

I will be honest, I wasn't sure if Valentine Mini's were going to be a keeper at Captured Images. I liked the idea, but the weather in February is not the nicest! I thought what the heck and throw it out there to you guys anyways and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of interested! I ended up shooting at two different locations and after being blown away by the pictures I am happy to say Valentine Mini's are here to stay! Enjoy
