Not Feeling It!

I haven't been feeling very well for a few days now! Actually, we have all taken turns having fevers and now Jeremiah is left with a cough he can't shake and I ... well, I will be honest, I wake up feeling like crap! I hate that I am living on pain killers to make it through the day and my kids have watched more t.v. then I would like to confess! One good thing that has come out of this bat of illness is an ability to praise the Lord no matter what. Please don't misunderstand me, I am fighting to praise Him as I fight to get my aching back out of bed each morning. But how can I not praise him when he is faithfully gotten me through another day, I have been scared a few times now, that I would not make it through the day without help, but like magic my kids have survived another day home with mom and even taken naps!!! I have come to say every morning if it's your will please help me to feel better but more importantly Lord, thank you for the help in raising my kids and thank you for your love and patients for me! Tomorrow is another day and another chance to start again, no matter how I feel, my day is dependent on the Lord's perfect help and I have peace in that!

For some reason I thought giving my kids sugar for Christmas pictures was a good idea??? One day I will learn

Hanukkah

Tonight is the last night of Hanukkah. I am not Jewish, but my husband is so we think it is fun for the kids to see part of their culture. This year on top of the fun of the menorah lighting every night, we invited some friends over for traditional Jewish food and to share the story of Hanukkah, which you can find here http://judaism.about.com . Really Hanukkah is a festival that everyone can enjoy a lot of deep fried food and chocolate coins won me over right away! But this year I have learned a lesson thanks to Hanukkah and here is how I learned it...

On the first night of Hanukkah I went shopping to pick up some the items I would be cooking. As I checked out the cashier noticed my items and commented that it looked like I was cooking something. I replied that it was Hanukkah and he gave me a look and said, "that's hard there is a lot of rules". I smiled and said "yes, but thankfully I didn't follow the Kosher law when I cook". He smiled and I left... That small conversation got me thinking, how thankful I am that the legalisms and laws of old do not apply to me! There are still a lot of rules that are good to follow, I think most people can agree that the ten commandments are not bad rules to live by, but some laws like what is kosher or not are rules I can live without! I imagine a life full of rules about what you can eat and when, how many steps you can take on a certain day and of course the animal sacrifices for your sins :P Thankfully God knew these rules where not something that I and a lot of others could ever keep up with so he gave us Christmas and a son to be the final sacrifice that anyone would ever need! We will still celebrate Hanukkah in the years to come, it is fun and a miracle, but my family and I will always be more excited about Christmas!

A Personal Touch

I have been thinking and praying a lot about my life, and of course a big part of that is Captured Images. God has been faithful to give me some much needed rest and answers to prayers, he is so good. For a long time I have been asking God to give me what I want in life, then I realized that is the wrong prayer. I don't want to get what I think I need in my life but instead I want what God thinking I should have! As soon as my prayers changed my life did too! The journey that God has and is still taking me on is amazingly wonderful and part of the journey includes Captured Images. So that being said I am going to be making many changes around here one of which starts tonight! I will be blogging more and not just about pictures. So let start with today...

I have been wanting to do some lifestyle photography for a long time and who better to start with then my own family! It can be tricky getting pictures that include me in them but then I remembered my Micah shares my passion for crazy pictures so we had some fun...

I know these are crazy but I want to remember every detail of our lives even blowdrying and brushing teeth. Here we are this is pretty normal around here we like to have fun and goof off!

The W Family

The W family came out for some Holiday pictures today and they where just too cute! Little Stevie was adorable!!! I love pictures like this, the family was so natural and I can't help but smile as I look through these pictures. The J Family

What a fun time we had at this session! We were trying to bet the sun setting, it started raining a little and I was trying to be fast for the sake of the three little guys, ( boys will be boys and NO boys like pictures day!) I must say I couldn't keep my eye's off of some the pictures that came out of this session the fall colors and the romantic vintage kissing picture made my week! What a cute family and what crazy boys, they came up with the last few pictures on there own! Enjoy

There is a little bit of a baby boom right now! This baby is just beautiful! I just loved how cute she looked in every headband I own! Enjoy

Samuel

I had a big baby contest a few months back and this little boy was the big winner! Samuel looks just like his brothers, all three of them! Yes, poor mom is outnumbered but with boys as cute as hers how could you complain! I just love Sam's eye's, just beautiful, and they just happen to live by a pomegranate orchard which made for an adorable harvest picture! Enjoy

Kingston

I have been a bad blogger again! In fact I've just been overwhelmed lately, trying to play catch up from the broken computer and the busy holiday session quickly coming on. All I can say is sorry and thanks for putting up with me, you are all the best!

This is Kingston, he is adorable and would much rather eat then sleep, as I found out. After a good fight he finally gave up and we caught his sleepy cuteness! I love the picture of Kingston in grandpa's hat, (he shares a middle name with him). Sister jumped in for a few pictures at the end and I love the cute look on her face as brother screams! Enjoy

I went to Chico to capture one of my favorite families, I use to work with Monica and love being about to capture her family! Monica comes up with the best idea's and when she said she wanted to take pictures at an old ice cream shop I was so excited! Cousins

I am finally catching up on the blog, it's been a little crazy around here with all the computer problems!
